Autism in children is a condition that affects how a child learns, communicates, and relates to others. Every child with autism is different and may need support in different ways.

Signs of autism

• Difficulty with social interaction or playing with others

• Repetitive behaviours (e.g. hand flapping, lining up toys)

• Strong reactions to sounds, textures, or lights

• Preferring routines and getting upset by changes

• Limited eye contact, facial expressions and not responding to their name
