School Readiness

With increasing screen time and academic pressure, many children are entering school without the essential motor, sensory, and language skills needed to thrive. These delays can go unnoticed and may lead to children falling behind their peers.

Usually school readiness refers to those children starting school in the following year, however at times we can begin to indicate a need for development of these skills two years before beginning school.

What should I look for in my preschooler?

Does your Preschooler….

  • Have turned in toes

  • Walk on their toes

  • Jump on the spot

  • Jump from a height

  • Run safely

  • Use alternate feet to climb up and down stairs (4yrs)

  • Balance on one leg for 5 sec (4yrs)
